Prospects is a large, limited, national company, focusing solely on education, employment and training activities, with a turnover of approximately £54m in 2008 – 2009, almost 1200 staff based in 60+ premises and more than 200 associate consultants. Our contracts, mainly in the public sector, range from £1,000+ to several million pounds.

Prospects is the largest national provider of Connexions, in twenty four local authority areas, delivering universal and targeted services to over 300,000 young people annually in hundreds of schools, colleges and other venues.

Prospects is one of the largest nextstep contractors, providing information, advice and guidance (IAG) for adults, including the management and delivery of the nextstep contract for the whole of Greater London 2008 – 2010, and recently won the contract to deliver IAG in all London prisons from 2009.

We train guidance, employment and education professionals in our NVQ Centre. Our many IAG, employment and education projects target specific groups e.g. NEET, LDD young people.

Other business activities include: regeneration initiatives including advocacy, family learning; project and service management including delivery of more than thirty ESF programmes valued at over £10m in 2004 – 2008; Ofsted schools inspection across London and the south of England; events management including jobs, skills and HE fairs; employer facing services (training, workforce development, vacancy handling, recruitment); educational consultancy; careers information and materials; web design, education and training products in a wide range of media; research and evaluation; quality improvement, surveys; placing young people and adults into jobs, training and learning; pre-employment training; psychometric testing; e-enabled products such as Fast Tomato and the Real Game series.

Prospects Education Resources is based in Barrow-in-Furness and is one of the many faces of Prospects business, offering a range of services to schools, colleges, further and higher education institutions, nextstep, employers and many more engaged in the delivery of learning services.

Established for over 12 years and linked to all major publishers in the field, Prospects team of specialists’ research and source new careers, personal development, LDD and virtual learning resources. These are added to the new editions and the tried and tested favourites used by teachers, facilitators and individuals alike in the delivery of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance.
